The following projects are collaborations between Jessica Swanson and Trygve Faste.

Penant Bird feeder

This simple ceramic bird feeder is a modular form that is both functional and playful. The design is easily produceable with an infinitely variable production method so that each feeder will be unique. The simple pendant design allows for easy assembly of interchangeable components.

Intertidal deployment objects

Intertidal Deployment Objects are assembled from ceramic pieces that were submerged into the ocean. This allowed barnacles, mussels, and other marine life to attach to their surfaces. Though typically seen as fouling organisms by people who work in the marine environment, this project embraces barnacles and other sea life as potentially beautiful contributors to the work.

bryophyte edition

This is conceptual project developed new methods to integrate moss with functional ceramic artwork. The focus was to generate and optimize strategies for synthesizing moss with ceramic products. The mosses grow on their platforms that remain outside. Lids can then be rotated indoors for a limited amount of time as desired.

Ocean Bowl Project

So far over thirty artists have participated in this project. It raises environmental awareness and donation funds to help keep the oceans of our planet clean.
